Fake Outrage: Bryce Harper’s private chef comments during last night’s Apple TV broadcast

Last night, the Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the Washington Nationals thanks to five home runs and a Kyle Gibson masterclass. During the Apple TV broadcast, Bryce Harper joined the crew.
Harper was with Kruk and T-Mac the night before and was absolutely fantastic in the booth. I really hope he continues to make appearances until we can get him back in the lineup.
During the interview last night, Harper was asked about his favorite places to eat in Philadelphia while the Apple TV broadcast team ran through Pat’s and Geno’s cheesesteaks before ultimately deciding that Citizens Bank Park makes the best one (lol).
Harper then stated that he has a private chef at home and that’s where he normally gets most of his meals.
I know, it was SHOCKING news.
Bryce Harper who signed a $330 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies has a private chef.
I can’t believe it!
Give me a break. This is the perfect example of fake outrage. Half the time, everyone in the city of Philadelphia rips Harper for “pandering” to the Phillies fan base. Now, when he’s honest, people have a problem with that too. Can we please just leave the reigning NL MVP alone?
His answer was completely honest and not to mention, he prefaced it with saying how fortunate he was to even have the opportunity to have a private chef. Not to mention, Harper also mentioned Angelo’s and Tacconelli’s shortly after but no one seemed to catch that part.
Yeah, okay. Let’s just have Bryce Harper lie and name any place in the city. That makes perfect sense. Then everyone would be saying the complete opposite and how Bryce most likely doesn’t eat out much given the fact that his an MLB mega-superstar making more money than the majority of Philadelphia could even imagine.
Sorry, Laura. But maybe you’re the one out of touch with reality if you didn’t know that the majority of professional athletes have private chefs to keep their diet and foot intake at a healthy level so they can remain elite athletes at their job.
Reminder for you: There’s no need to turn your comments off on your post because literally no one is engaging with you on Twitter, especially when you tweet something that stupid.
Matthew here is coming to terms that Bryce Harper makes a boat load of money and probably lives in a mansion. Just tweet through it buddy, you’ll be okay.
Ladies of Nationals Baseball used it as an opportunity to ask Harper to buy school supplies for class rooms in Washington DC. While I agree that everyone who can afford it should help out teachers as they prepare for the new school year, the timing of this tweet was stupid.
On that note: I will drop a tweet in here from our friend Eric Fink, who starts a thread each year of teachers in need. Donate if you can. If not, no worries, just don’t get mad at Bryce Harper for making more money than you.
As for the actual question, it wasn’t as stupid as Jim Salisbury asking if Nick Castellanos hears boos, but it was pretty fucking stupid. Just another example of Apple TV+ trying to relate to the city of Philadelphia during their broadcast for no real reason at all.

No one should even care what Bryce Harper eats or how his food is prepared.
