Former Eagles player Nnamdi Asomugha will star in new Netflix movie, The Good Nurse

Former Philadelphia Eagles player Nnamdi Asomugha will star in a new Netflix movie called “The Good Nurse.”
The Good Nurse is a new movie coming to Netflix that examines the downfall of New Jersey and Pennsylvania serial killer Charles Cullen. Cullen was a nurse who confessed to killing at least 40 hospital patients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey from 1988 to 2003.
Asomugha, who always wanted to be a Hollywood actor rather than a NFL football player, will play Somerset County Detective Danny Baldwin. Joining him will be movie stars Eddie Redmayne as Cullen and Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren, a nurse who worked with Cullen at Somerset Medical Center in New Jersey.

For Asomugha, who played for the Eagles during the 2011 and 2012 seasons, the role on “The Good Nurse” will be among his most visible screen appearances. His most notable role has been in the 2017 crime drama “Crown Heights,” in which he played Carl King and was nominated for several awards, including an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture. He also served as an executive producer on the award-winning war drama “Beasts of No Nation” and is married to actress Kerry Washington.
Honestly, credit to Asomugha. I know his time in Philadelphia was a major disaster and a huge disappointment, but the guy said he was going to retire from the NFL and pursue a career in acting and he did just that while also being somewhat successful in both. Pretty impressive.
“The Good Nurse” is set to premiere on Netflix on Oct. 26 following a theatrical release on Oct. 19.
