ESPN ‘Always Sunny’ MNF Eagles graphic is their worst work yet

Everyone knows ESPN has some of the worst graphics in the history of sports broadcasting. From Gumby-like recreations of people to needlessly sad chyrons, the network has established itself as the World-Wide Leader in horrendous special effects.
Even with that history, nothing could have prepared me for ESPN’s Eagles graphic on Monday Night Football
Jesus Christ.
I mean, seriously, who made this? They somehow managed to make it look like a fever dream I had after a double dose of NyQuil while fighting COVID.
I get it, nothing will be perfect for a weekly production. Especially not since Marvel went full 1970s Argentina and kidnapped/detained the majority of SFX artists after the successful theatrical debut of the MCU.
Even so, this is genuinely embarrassing for ESPN. I swear my copy of NCAA Basketball 2k3 had better facial rendering than whatever drek this is.
You know what? There’s no need to take my word for it. Decide for yourself:

Meanwhile…
LOOK HOW THEY DID MY MAN JORDAN DAVIS:

They have one of the most fearsome run-stoppers in the NFL looking like that one ghost from Ghostbusters. Need I continue?
It’s a shame, really. The Always Sunny homage was spot on. Birds of War. Fight Milk. All the hits!
But sadly, it was ruined by some nightmarish creation. Even Guillermo Del Toro would be made to feel slightly uncomfy at the sight of one of these monstrosities.
Luckily for us, nothing could stop the Eagles from trouncing the Minnesota Vikings. And this shitty graphic definitely didn’t damper my enjoyment of that beat down one bit.
24 hours later, however, I find myself needing answers. I don’t expect any. All I expect is ESPN to continue rolling out this freakshow every Monday night for the rest of the season.
