Pirates drop epic Vincent Velasquez Hype Video as the city of Pittsburgh gains newfound hope for the 2023 baseball season
The Pittsburgh Pirates dropped THE hype video of the MLB offseason earlier this week, featuring none other than Philadelphia Phillies legend Vincent Velasquez.
I have written multiple times about Vincent Velasquez and the upcoming baseball season possibly being “his year” and honestly, it was one of my favorite articles to write every winter.
That’s why I’m thrilled he’s getting a hype video from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. However, I have a ton of family out in Western Pennsylvania and they absolutely hate the Pirates and the fact that they are a poverty baseball organization playing in one of the nicest ballparks in America while refusing to field a major league baseball team.
Let me tell you, they were none too thrilled about a Vinny Velo Hype video as their marquee signing this offseason.

The future was so bright for Vincent Velasquez in the city of Philadelphia. He was a living legend and a very likable guy through some of the worst times in Phillies baseball over the last two decades.
The Pirates signed Velasquez to a one-year contract on earlier this month on a deal worth $3.15 million. He’s what Vinny Velo had to say after Pittsburgh signed him.
“I think I’m here to come in and have an impact on everybody else to show that there is opportunity, that there is possibility, that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” Velasquez said. “That’s my whole … mentality of going into this offseason knowing this was an opportunity I needed to take.” – via MLB.com
