Professional Review: Nick Sirianni’s “I’m so ILL” t-shirt

A picture featuring Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni rocking yet another custom t-shirt was making its rounds yesterday on social media. While Sirianni is no stranger to wearing custom t-shirt designs, this one was certainly questionable.
Nick Sirianni: I’m So ILL T-Shirt
Yikes.
Listen, as a t-shirt peddler myself, it’s really hard to hate on a custom design but this shirt really leaves me no other option.
I’m well aware that some t-shirts are a hit while others are complete misses. We’ve gone through so many designs where they were absolute duds from “Happy Retirement” designs for Jimmy Butler when he left for Miami to more recently, the Jim Gardner Minshew design we posted before the Eagles-Cowboys game on Christmas Eve.
Note: Hardly to blame for the Jim Gardner Minshew flop. The Eagles’ backup quarterback went 0-2 as a starter and killed all momentum for this t-shirt to work.
Sometimes you hit with a “I Fucking Hate This Place” Alec Bohm t-shirt or a “Bad Things Happen in Philadelphia” design that half the city of Philadelphia wanted to kill you over because you were “profiting off President Trump” while they failed to realize that we just spent two years in COVID lockdown and could barely put food on the table.
Bad Things Happen In Philadelphia
Point being, when it comes to bad t-shirt designs, you just roll with the wins and losses and keep it moving.
Back to Sirianni’s t-shirt selection. I’m not even sure what I’m looking at? Where did Nick get this t-shirt that looks like it’s been through hell and back and ended up in the trunk of his car after a drug and alcohol fueled weekend?
Was Sirianni down the shore at the boardwalk shopping the winter discount racks? Again, it looks like this is an Art History 101 t-shirt and to be very clear, I own several of their shirts. Unfortunately, everyone strikes out in the t-shirt design game so I’m not blaming them at all. Sirianni putting on the shirt, even if it was free, is certainly up for debate.
It honestly may be the ugliest Philly-related t-shirt ever, rivaling the “ILL” shirts that went absolutely crazy during the Phillies post season runs back in the late 2000s.
I mean seriously who would ever wear an “ILL” shirt? Pictured above, a drunk 17-year old Kyle Pagan from Crossing Broad did. Why was he drinking at 17 years old? I’m not a NARC and that’s none of my business. This article is simply about bad custom t-shirts so let’s make sure we stay focused.
As for myself, I would NEVER wear an ILL shirt and couldn’t imagine buying one from Booths Corner Farmers Market on the nice side of Delco. For those of you who were too young back in the late 2000s, I managed to dig a totally random picture up of someone wearing one of the shirts in question.
I would never wear one of those shirts unless I had a Halloween mask to hide behind inside the Halloween Adventure store at the Glen Eagle Shopping Center in Glen Mills circa 2010 but again, this is definitely NOT me.
To be clear this is NOT me in the photo.

It was a dark time in Philly sports apparel and if we connected the dots, there’s probably a direct relationship between the “ILL” shirts and the Phillies missing the postseason for 10 years straight. Luckily for the Eagles, a bad custom t-shirt design worn by Nick Sirianni won’t save the New York Giants from getting their asses handed to them on a silver platter Saturday night.
Birds by 20. Minimum.
