Eagles Buzz: Adam Schefter confirms Allen Robinson almost came to Philly last offseason before deal fell apart

Talk about dodging a bullet. Adam Schefter was on Pardon My Take last week and spoke on the Philadelphia Eagles pursuit of Allen Robinson last offseason.
According to Schefty, Philadelphia had a contract in place for Robinson, which ultimately fell apart as he signed with the Los Angeles Rams. Because of that, the Eagles changed course and traded for AJ Brown.
Eagles failed to sign Allen Robinson, ultimately traded for AJ Brown
Touchdowns
- AJ Brown – 11
- Allen Robinson – 3
Receiving Yards
- AJ Brown – 1496
- Allen Robinson 339
Receptions
- AJ Brown – 88
- Allen Robinson – 33
Worth noting that Robinson was playing on a bad Rams team with a stress fracture in his foot last season but it’s safe to say there’s really no comparison between Brown and Robinson based off last year’s numbers.
It’s pretty wild to think that heading into last season, the Eagles were in talks with Russell Wilson, Allen Robinson, and JuJu Smith-Schuster because they were so unsure about Jalen Hurts being the quarterback of the future. Now, AJ Brown set the single-season franchise record for receiving yards, Jalen Hurts is a franchise quarterback, and the Eagles nearly won a Super Bowl.
Life comes at you fast.
