JT Realmuto was ejected from the Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training game after a botched baseball exchange with the umpire behind the plate.

Yet again, umpires just find new reasons to hand over their jobs to robots. This is honestly embarrassing and I really don’t say it lightly that Major League Baseball should take action.

I’m not even being overly dramatic, the umpire clearly lost his cool and felt slighted by Realmuto, who never even turned around to see where he was while attempting to put the baseball into his glove.

You can’t throw a player out for “showing you up” even more so when that action was not what the umpire thought it was in the first place. 

Plus, it’s JT Realmuto for crying out loud. He’s literally the Best Catcher in Baseball and just got back from the World Baseball Classic, representing Team USA. This is completely unacceptable from the umpire and it’s not even up for debate.
