Mike Trout couldn’t stop texting Adam Schefter during the early stages of the offseason in regards to former Philadelphia Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson.

Sure, you can definitely respect Trout being a die hard Eagles fan. The Millville, New Jersey native has been seen at The Linc more than a few times over the years. While it’s obviously nice he can just pick up his phone and contract Schefty directly while the rest of us losers had to deal with CJGJ’s cryptic and at times, downright annoying tweets until he ultimately signed with the Detroit Lions, I would have liked Trout to actually pick up the phone and reach out to CJGJ directly.

Mike Trout needs to carry a bit more weight here if he wants to be considered the best baseball player of all time. What’s he doing texting Schefter instead of reaching out to CJGJ? You mean to tell me that Trout couldn’t get a direct line to CJ Gardner-Johnson?

Meanwhile, Meek Mill was texting Robert Kraft a few weeks ago trying to get Lamar Jackson to New England.

Maybe that would have helped the Eagles safety realize how dumb it was for him to sign with Detroit instead of staying in Philadelphia for the 2023 season.
