WATCH: John Kruk sings Dancing On My Own, finally listens to the full version of Bryson Stott’s walkup song

We received a heavy dose of music related content today from John Kruk and Tom McCarthy during the Philadelphia Phillies broadcast today against the Cincinnati Reds.
First, we had the National League Champions ring ceremony before the game, and with that came ‘Dancing On My Own’ which turned into the Phillies postseason anthem last year.
Even while the Phillies vowed to find a new song this year because they don’t want to listen to “second place songs” this season, the song (hopefully) made one final appearance today at Citizens Bank Park.
That prompted Kruk to give people watching on television a beautiful rendition of the song while T-Mac lip-synced along and Mike Schmidt awkwardly smiled.

From there, we had Bryson Stott step up to the plate in the bottom of the third inning, with Kruk commenting on his walkup song, “AOK” by Tai Verdes.
Kruk, once a fan of the song, actually got around to listening to the full thing thanks to his daughter “putting Spotify on his phone” and the result, was Kruk changing his opinion on the tune that he once liked.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of the song either but if Bryson Stott is going to continue to hit walk-offs and play like he’s been playing to start the 2023 season, then I certainly don’t mind blaring that song as loud as possible.
