Deshaun Watson has the largest fully guaranteed contract in NFL history after the Cleveland Browns signed him to an extension last offseason. 

After Jalen Hurts became the latest player to sign a massive extension, agreeing to a five-year $255 million contract with the Eagles on Tuesday, Watson congratulated Hurts on his new deal. Watson reached out to congratulate Hurts and let him know that he will now have to pick up the dinner tab next time Watson is in Philly.

Just looking at the numbers, Hurts’ contract does look bigger but the kicker is the guaranteed money. Watson’s contract is fully guaranteed, meaning he will get every last dollar from his $230 million contract. The Eagles handed Hurts $110 million fully guaranteed upon signing the extension and another $180 million guaranteed for injury. 

There appears to be a lot of uproar about Hurts’ friendship with Watson, considering the latter’s legal issues. In reality, 90% of the NFL remains cordial with Watson and athletes will have their own perspectives. Nothing to see here people.
