Bad Omen: Premature confetti causes game stoppage during Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks had to pause Game 4 against the Boston Celtics tonight due to confetti dropping all over the court.
Confetti Stoppage during Boston Celtics vs Atlanta Hawks Game 4
Yikes. That’s not good.
Here in Philadelphia, we all know what happened last time confetti fell early in a playoff game against the Boston Celtics. At the start of overtime back in 2018, confetti rained down on fans at the Wells Fargo Center and caused a seven minute delay in the game.
Marco Belinelli hit a game tying shot to send the game to overtime, confetti dumped all over fans at the Wells Fargo Center, and then Al Horford and the Celtics ended up dominating in overtime to take Game 3 of that series.Â
Early confetti is a bad omen.
Just when you thought the Hawks were going to make this a series, they are now down 13-points midway through the second quarter to the Celtics and at high-risk of falling behind 3-1 in the series.Â
The Sixers, while trying to get Joel Embiid healthy, await the winner of the Celtics-Hawks series, which will start no earlier than next Saturday.
