Zack Wheeler shines as Nick Castellanos, Kody Clemens go yard in 6-1 Phillies route of the Houston Astros

The Philadelphia Phillies sent Zack Wheeler to the mound yesterday after an Aaron Nola masterclass
The last time the Phillies faced Cristian Javier, he no-hit them for six innings in the World Series.
That wasn’t the case yesterday.
The Fightins jumped all over Cristian Javier in the fourth inning which led to a 6-1 route of the Houston Astros to improve to 15-13 on the season. They have now won four straight series and 10 of 13 overall.
Nick Castellanos got things rolling for the Phillies in the fourth with a solo home run.

JT Realmuto then hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Brandon Marsh to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the sixth inning with Realmuto on base, Kody Clemens crushed a home run to right field and even gave us a cocky little bat flip as he headed down the first base line.Â

The Phillies would tack on two more runs in the top of the eighth inning thanks to an Alec Bohm double to score Marsh and a Jake Cave single to score Bohm. That was all the Phillies would need as Zack Wheeler and the bullpen took care of the rest. Wheeler looked like his old self on the mound yesterday, throwing six scoreless innings while striking out seven.

Seranthony Dominguez threw a scoreless seventh, followed by Andrew Vasquez who allowed one run before Yunior Marte shut the door in the ninth inning to seal the victory for the Phillies.Â
