Fake Outrage: Larry Anderson upset with Marcell Ozuna’s home run celebration during 5-1 Phillies loss in extra innings to the Braves

Larry Anderson was unhappy with Marcell Ozuna’s home run celebration in yesterday’s 5-1 Phillies loss to the Atlanta Braves in extra innings.
The Phillies took the Braves to extra innings after a pitching duel unfolded between Aaron Nola and Bryce Edler sent the game to extras tied 0-0.
Nola tossed six scoreless innings allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out five. Edler countered with seven scoreless innings allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out six.
At the plate, the Phillies struggled throughout the game with Bryson Stott, Alec Bohm, and Brandon Marsh the only batters to record a hit on the night.
The Phillies Top 5 in the order were lifeless yesterday against the Braves
- Kyle Schwarber: 0-5, 3 K
- Trea Turner: 0-2, BB, K
- Nick Castellanos: 0-4, 3 K
- Bryce Harper: 0-3, BB
- JT Realmuto: 0-4, R, K

With two outs in the 10th inning, Kyle Schwarber completely screwed up a routine fly ball to right field, allowing the Braves to score two runs and take a 3-0 lead.
Then of course, since Schwarber and the Phillies couldn’t get out of the inning, Marcell Ozuna demolished a two-run home run to put the game out of reach. The result was the Phillies falling 10 games behind the Braves in the NL East with 88 games left on the schedule.
Larry Anderson Unhappy with Marcell Ozuna
On the radio broadcast, Larry Anderson wasn’t happy with the celebration at home plate from Ozuna.
Listen, I love Larry Anderson and honestly, prefer the radio broadcast over the television one but here at The Liberty Line we pride ourselves on fair and balanced journalism.
When something isn’t right, it’s our duty to address it regardless of the people in question.
Ben Davis crying about Francisco Lindor lobbing a baseball to first base and now Larry Anderson crying about Ozone’s home plate celebration simply can’t happen.
I’m not sure when everyone became so soft in this city but there’s absolutely no way we can continue on complaining about shit like this, even more so when it’s coming from our beloved TV and radio broadcast crews.
No one gets upset when Bryce Harper runs around the bases screaming “THIS IS MY HOUSE” while outlining the Phillies logo across his chest with his hands.
Rhys Hoskins spiked his bat into Middle Earth and it’s now one of the most iconic moments in Phillies baseball history.
Actual Reason to be Mad: Address the fact that the New York Mets are coming to town and the Phillies and Citizens Bank Park are giving first pitch duties to the scumbag leader of their fan group that organizations “takeovers” in South Philly.
Everyone loves a good batflip when it’s their guy doing the deed. Everyone loves the excitement rounding the base paths when it’s Bryce Harper or any player wearing a Phillies uniform.
When it happens to you, take on the chin. Maybe don’t allow Ozuna to hit an extra-innings BLAST to put the Atlanta Braves up 10 games in the NL East standings.
Be mad at Rob Thomson who only had two right-handed bullpen arms available on Tuesday night and his decision to keep Kyle Schwarber, who was 0-for-5 in the game, in right field in the 10th inning instead of making a defensive substitution.
How about the Phillies police the game themselves and throw at Ozuna or literally anyone to light a spark instead of looking like dead, lifeless souls out on the baseball field in big game moments this season.
