Nick Castellanos gives the perfect answer to question on how he would recruit Shohei Ohtani to play for the Philadelphia Phillies

Major League Baseball All-Star festivities are underway at T-Mobile Park in Seattle and of course, Shohei Ohtani and his future with the Los Angeles is the hot topic of conversation.
The Los Angeles Times published an article featuring MLB players from a bunch of different teams, asking them to give their pitch for Ohtani to play on their team.
Nick Castellanos was the Phillies representative and as usual, he delivered with the best answer possible.
NICK CASTELLANOS, Philadelphia Phillies:
I wouldn’t do that. The only thing I would do is tell him and remind him how much control he has in his decision, which I’m sure he knows. The only thing I would say is, go exactly where you want to go. I think a lot of people were giving him shit early on, because if he would have waited a little bit more, he would have gotten a little more money from the Angels.
He said he doesn’t care about the money, he just wants to make history. He’s been doing just that.
So I would tell him: Do what you want to do, brother.
Castellanos has always had a way with words. I honestly can’t get enough of his responses to the media. Just yesterday, Nick shared his opinion (again) on his favorite super hero and left a reporter completely stunned by stating that Scooby-Doo is the correct answer.

We all remember the “I don’t have a college degree, I just hit baseballs” line when he first joined the Phillies, and there have been plenty of other classics along the way.
My personal favorite is when he told the now-retired Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia that he couldn’t hear Phillies’ fans booing him last season because he was deaf.

We were also blessed with a full breakdown of Nick Castellanos’ catch in the NLDS against the Atlanta Braves, which was absolutely perfect.

In all seriousness, I actually love Castellanos answer about Ohtani. We play baseball in Philadelphia and aren’t out there whoring ourselves out to bring in another player, regardless if they are a worldwide superstar that could very well be the greatest baseball player of all time when it’s all said and done.
Shohei Ohtani can do whatever he wants to do and everyone in Philly will sit back and see how it unfolds.
Simple as that.
We have our own team to worry about. Do whatever you want to do, brother.

I really hope one day the Phillies can get Shohei Ohtani! That would be so cool!
