WATCH: Bryce Harper credits Craig Kimbrel for a nice barehanded catch on his home run ball, calls him stupid for doing it

Bryce Harper hit his first home run since May 25, 2023 last night in the Phillies 9-4 win over the San Diego Padres.
With the Phillies down 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Harper hit a game-tying solo shot into the Phillies bullpen, which was caught barehanded by Craig Kimbrel.

Harper also failed to acknowledge the bullpen when rounding the bases, which prompted him to hop on the bullpen phone in the dugout and call them after he returned to the dugout.
Following the game, Harper spoke about Kimbrel catching his home run ball barehanded, saying that while it was a nice catch, it was completely stupid for Kimbrel to do that because the Phillies obviously don’t want him to hurt himself on a play like that during the second half of the 2023 MLB regular season.
Obviously, Harper was being lighthearted when calling Kimbrel stupid. It was just a funny moment between teammates after two big wins yesterday for the Phillies.
Up Next for the Phillies
The Phillies won both games of yesterday’s doubleheader against the Padres and will send Zack Wheeler to the mound today at 1:05PM looking to take 3 of 4 against San Diego and earn a series win.

National League Wild Card Standings
In the NL Wild Card, the Phillies are still on the outside looking in, trailing the San Francisco Giants by 1 game for the final Wild Card spot.
