Pirates scoreboard operators ‘roast’ the Phillies, Philadelphia sports during weekend series in Pittsburgh

The Phillies dropped 2 of 3 games in Pittsburgh over the weekend, and the Pirates scoreboard operator took the liberty of completely “roasting” Philadelphia sports teams all over the Jumbotron.
Pirates Scoreboard “Roasts” Phillies & Philadelphia Sports
Always Sunnier In Pittsburgh: The Pirates have five World Series titles. The Phillies have just two.Â
Ever See The Flyers Win The Cup?: The Penguins have won five Stanley Cups. The Flyers won just two.Â
Also Better At Football: The Steelers have six Super Bowl titles. The Eagles have just one.Â
We’re Better At Food: Sheetz is better than Wawa. That’s just obvious.Â
Awesome. Real funny stuff from the Pittsburgh Pirates here.
Look at these idiots whipping out championship facts like everyone in Philadelphia doesn’t already know that being a sports fan in this city is nothing but pain and suffering and then a ridiculous claim that Sheetz is better than Wawa.Â
I expected better but when you’re the Pirates, who have only made the playoffs four times over the last 30+ years, you have to turn to the Penguins, Steelers, and Sheetz to boost up your own resume when shit talking an opponent.Â
The Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t advanced past the NLDS since they lost the NL Championship Series to the Atlanta Braves in 1992. They haven’t even made the postseason since the 2015 season when they lost in the NL Wild Card to the Chicago Cubs.Â
Before that, they lost in the NL Wild Card to the Giants in 2014 and the Cardinals in the NLDS in 2013.Â
This is a poverty baseball franchise.
Even after winning 2 of 3 against the Phillies, they are 47-58 on the season and barely hanging on to fourth place in the NL Central standings.Â
Honestly, I don’t care about the weekend series. Tomorrow is August 1st and the Phillies, while playing really bad baseball, are still 56-49 on the season and find themselves in a tight race to make their way into the postseason via the NL Wild Card.Â
After dropping 2 of 3 to the Pirates, the Phillies fell to a half-game out of the final spot, tied in the loss column with the Miami Marlins and Milwaukee Brewers.
The Giants old the top spot with a game advantage.Â

It’s not the end of the world.
Looking at the Wild Card Standings, its a complete mess and the Phillies are still not playing their best baseball of the season. Tomorrow begins the month of August and there’s a favorable schedule ahead for the Phillies to really separate themselves from the pack.
The Phillies will open up a 4-game series tonight against the Marlins in Miami, who has you can see above, also decided to roast the Detroit Tigers on their scoreboard over the weekend. The only difference, is that the Marlins won 2 of 3 against the Tigers to get back into a Wild Card spot.
Taijuan Walker (11-4, 4.06 ERA) takes the mound against Edward Cabrera (5-6, 4.74 ERA) tonight in Miami. Phillies could make some moves but will definitely have to clean things up after what we all witnessed over the weekend.
