WATCH: Pete Alonso takes baseball to the face, Mets lose in extra innings to the Kansas City Royals on a balk

Oh baby. There’s nothing I enjoy more than clowning on the New York Mets while the Philadelphia Phillies continue to win baseball games.
In the latest edition of the Mets absolutely embarrassing themselves on a baseball field, we bring you to last night’s game against the Kansas City Royals.
The Royals beat the Mets 7-6 in 10 innings last night on a walk-off balk, or what the cool kids are calling a “balk-off”.
Josh Walker entered the game for the Mets with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning. He appeared to have some issues with his PitchCom communication and was unable to hear catcher Francisco Alvarez.
The confusion caused Walker to move his left leg while on the rubber before stepping off, forcing the umpires to call a balk on the play and allowing the Royals winning run to cross home plate.

To rub salt in the wound, in the bottom of the fifth inning, Pete Alonso attempted to catch a routine fly ball in foul territory but instead, had the baseball land right on his face.
Pete Alonso LOL
Side Note: Mets fans in the comments of the TLL Tweet above saying that “I can’t talk because I’m a Phillies fan” are idiots. Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but Philly has gone to 3 World Series over the last 20 years and won a ring. The Mets have not. They choke every year and embarrass themselves constantly. You’re all losers. Phillies have nothing to do with it.
Anyways, all of this happened last night after the MLB Trade Deadline passed at 6pm and the Mets unloaded several key players, including Max Scherzer (Rangers) and Justin Verlander (Astros).
The team that entered the 2023 MLB season with the highest payroll in baseball now sits at 50-56 on the season and seven games out of a very crowded race for one of the three NL Wild Card spots.
LOLMets.
The Mets are so done for this year. Did you see they said goodbye to Max Scherzer? Mets are having a horrible year.
