It’s tough to play in the jungle, man: Phillies, Craig Kimbrel debut new entrance, LED lights at Citizens Bank Park.

The Philadelphia Phillies unveiled a new LED lit entrance for Phillies closer Craig Kimbrel last night at Citizens Bank Park.
Craig Kimbrel’s Citizens Bank Park Introduction
Before we even get into it, yes, I know that Craig Kimbrel coughed up a go-ahead home run to Joey Meneses and the Phillies lost the second game of the doubleheader against the Nationals on the night they debuted his entrance.
Tough look for sure, but hopefully that was a rare occasion that we’ll all look back and laugh about as we roll through the month of August.
With the lights flashing, Kimbrel now makes his entrance from the bullpen to Guns and Roses’ “Welcome to the Jungle” which is a pretty awesome sight to see. Not the greatest song choice from Kimbrel, but I’m into it regardless.
As Nick Castellanos said during last year’s World Series run, “It’s tough to play in the jungle, man”

Any relation? Probably not but it makes it better if you think Kimbrel did this as an ode to Citizens Bank Park and ‘The Jungle’ which never caught on as much as it should have, in my opinion.
I do wish that he went back to “Let It Go” as his entrance song of choice, but as long as he starts saving games for the Phillies again, I’ll take whatever song he wants.
Craig Kimbrel: “Let It Go” Entrance
Kimbrel has struggled over his last few outings but again, I’m not hitting the panic button yet. The Phillies’ closer has officially come back to earth after a dominant start to the 2023 MLB season and a trip to the All-Star game.
Over his last nine appearances (9 innings pitched), Kimbrel has allowed five runs (4 earned).
It is worth nothing that the umpires completely screwed him last night, missing a clear strike-three call on Meneses before he handed the Nationals a game-winning home run.
