WATCH: Johan Rojas crushes first career HR off Twins outfielder Jordan Luplow during funny at-bat in the 8th inning
The Philadelphia Phillies destroyed the Minnesota Twins last night at Citizens Bank Park, winning 13-2.
Cristopher Sanchez was on the mound for the Phillies and bounced back after a rough outing against the Kansas City Royals, throwing six innings while allowing six hits, two earned runs, and three walks.
Phillies 6-Run Second Inning
- Bryson Stott RBI double to right center.
- JT Realmuto RBI single to right field.
- Johan Rojas RBI fielders choice.
- Kyle Schwarber RBI single to right.
- Alec Bohm sac fly RBI to center.
- Trea Turner RBI single to left.
Down 11-2 with the game out of reach in the bottom of the eighth inning, Minnesota waved the white towel and sent outfielder Jordan Luplow to the mound. Luplow took the mound with some jokes, imitating Phillies’ closer Craig Kimbrel before pitching to Johan Rojas.

Johan Rojas First Career Home Run off position player Jordan Luplow
Completely ignoring the unwritten rules of baseball (and rightfully so) Rojas then smoked a 47.5mph pitch to deep left field for his first career MLB home run.
Rojas then proceeded to apologize to Luplow after he crossed home plate.
When the inning ended, Luplow went over to the home plate umpire to check him for sticky stuff, as they normally do to pitchers in between innings, but the ump declined his offer.
On the season, Rojas is batting .306 with one home run, 12 RBI, and a .757 OPS in 62 at-bats.
