Obviously, the Phillies lost 2 of 3 in Milwaukee but if you really think about it, that series could have easily been a sweep or at the very least, one where they won 2 of 3.
Jose Alvarado aided by Alec Bohm let game one slip away on Friday night and on Saturday, Aaron Nola pitched a complete dud as the Phillies fell 7-5 after a late-inning comeback fell short.Â
Yesterday, the Phillies avoided getting swept with a 4-2 win in Milwaukee thanks to a 3-run seventh inning that included back-to-back home runs from Alec Bohm and JT Realmuto.

I’m not saying that we should be okay with the result, but it’s hard to argue that the Phillies, mainly at the plate, have started to show the consistency we expected throughout the season.Â
Phillies Hunt for Red October
Even after dropped 2 of 3 to the Brewers, the Phillies maintained a 2.5 game lead over the Chicago Cubs for the top NL Wild Card spot. They are 5.5 games ahead of the D-Backs, Giants, Marlins, and Reds who are all fighting for the third and final ticket to the postseason.Â

The Resurgence of JT Realmuto, Bohm and Stott trending upwards
Much like Trea Turner, it was only a matter of time before JT Realmuto turned things around at the plate.
After a slow start to the season Realmuto has finally come alive, batting .348 with two home runs, 3 RBI, three walks, and 8 hits over his last 23 at-bats. Realmuto has posted a .288 batting average with five home runs and 14 RBI over his last 30 games.Â
After a remarkable start to the month of August, Alec Bohm has cooled down over his last 15 games, posting just a .246 batting average. In Milwaukee, Bohm started to turn things around (at the plate) and belted two home runs against the Brewers.
Getting Bohm and his fellow Daycare buddy Bryson Stott back on track is pivotal over the final 20+ games of the regular season. Given what both have done so far this season, there’s no question they will do just that.Â
Bet the Phillies right-handed bats tonight vs Rich Hill
Since joining the Padres, Hill has posted a miserable 8.50 ERA.
Right-handed hitters Nick Castellanos, Trea Turner, and J.T. Realmuto will get good swings against Hill, who is known for being a contact, ground ball pitcher.
