Disgusting Behavior: People who believe Minnesota Twins fans gave Carlos Correa the “Trea Turner Treatment” last night

Minnesota Twins fans attempted to copy a move directly out of Philadelphia Phillies fans playbook last night, giving their struggling franchise shortstop Carlos Correa a standing ovation at Target Field.
In 2022, Correa signed a 6-year, $200 million contract with the Minnesota Twins, good for an average annual salary of $33.3 million. This season however, things haven’t exactly been great for Correa. He’s posted just a .232 batting average with 113 hits, 18 home runs, 63 RBI, and 56 runs scored over 127 games this year.
Correa’s struggles prompted Twins fans to attempt to give him the “Trea Turner Treatment” last night, by organization an ovation for their struggling franchise shortstop in his first at-bat against the New York Mets.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Correa stepped up to the plate and hit the hardest home run of his career, a 114.2 mph moonshot to tie the game at 2-2 against the New York Mets.
I will admit that doing this against the Mets is funny for a few reasons.
Everyone in Philly hates the Mets, obviously, but they are also the team that thought they were signing Correa ahead of the 2023 season before an ugly back-and-forth between both sides, a few failed physicals, and a quick trip to San Francisco eventually landed Correa in Minnesota.

Okay so a few things on Carlos Correa and Minnesota Twins fans…
First, that is no where close to the type of support that was given to Trea Turner by Phillies’ fans back in early August and really, comparing the two is actually disgusting behavior from baseball fans.
Watch the video above and then check out the initial ovation that fans gave Turner at Citizens Bank Park.

Yeah, ummm…not even close?
Plus, any time Carlos Correa is even mentioned in the world of baseball, it’s important to remind everyone that he is a cheater and a scumbag.
Clearly, I’m still not over 2017 and you shouldn’t be either.
The Houston Astros got bailed out by Major League Baseball and a little thing called COVID-19 and really never got the harsh criticism they rightfully deserved from MLB teams and fans across America.
Correa will be FOREVER connected to the sign-stealing scandal during the 2017 World Series run with the Houston Astros, that was eventually revealed between the 2019 and 2020 season.
The Houston Asterisks Recap
The Houston Astros had a TV monitor around the home dugout at Minute Maid Park that had a clear and magnified view of the opponents’ catcher that was shot from a discrete center field camera.
Astros staff would then watch the rigged up monitor in the tunnel while Houston players were batting, to see where the opposing catcher was setting up and what fingers he was throwing down.
They would then relay to the Astros batter up at the plate which pitch was likely coming next by literally banging on trash cans, whistling, or hitting the ceiling of the dugout to signal if it was an off-speed pitch or a fastball.

Here in Philadelphia, Trea Turner is ELITE
The Phillies held a 2-0 lead through the first five innings last night against the Miami Marlins. Trea Turner got them on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run to left field.
Last night, Trea Turner extended his overall hit-streak to 16 games. He has now tied Cesar Hernandez for the longest home hitting streak at Citizens Bank Park at 20 games. Trea has 8 home runs over his past eight games, while batting .406 with 6 home runs and 14 RBI over his last seven games.
Over the last 30 games, Turner is batting .369 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI. He has managed to raise his season batting average to .265 on the year, while hitting a total of 23 home runs with 68 RBI. Turner is also a perfect 26-for-26 stealing bases.
Feel free to credit the standing ovations back in early August. Whatever works. Just know that this is the Trea Turner that Major League Baseball fans have witnessed over the past 8-years before he arrived in Philadelphia. Incredible turnaround.
Phillies Hunt for Red October
The Phillies hold a 2-game lead over the Chicago Cubs, who have lost two straight games, for the top NL Wild Card spot. The D-Backs, winners of three straight, hold on to the third and final ticket to the post season, four games back from the Phillies and a half-game up on the Miami Marlins, who are on the outside looking in.

Aaron Nola (12-9, 4.55 ERA) is on the mound tonight at 6:05PM facing off against Marlins pitcher Johnny Cueto (1-3, 5.55 ERA).
