Phillies split doubleheader with Atlanta Braves, maintain 1.5 game lead over the Chicago Cubs for top spot in NL Wild Card

The Phillies split yesterday’s day/night doubleheader with the Atlanta Braves, losing game one in extras before bouncing back to take game two, 7-5.
Game 1: 10-8 Braves Final
Taijuan Walker was on the mound and again struggled, allowing six earned runs and three walks over 5.1 innings. Walker has a 5.72 ERA in his past six starts, striking out 26 and walking 17 in 33 innings.
To say the very least, Walker continues to collapse down the stretch and work himself out of the conversation for a rotation spot in the postseason.
After falling behind 2-0, Alec Bohm tied things up with a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the third, scoring Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper.
Alec Bohm 2 RBI Double
The Braves jumped out to a 5-3 advantage before Alec Bohm cut the Phillies’ deficit to two runs on a single to centerfield and Bryson Stott pulled them within one run, roping an RBI double to right.
The Braves would tack on three more runs in the top of the sixth inning before Trea Turner smashed a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to again, cut the Phillies deficit to two runs.

Bryce Harper hit a game-tying two-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning but Atlanta immediately responded in the 10th, tagging Jose Alvarado for two runs, handing the Phillies a 10-8 loss.
Bryce Harper Game-Tying 2-Run Home Run
Side Note: Can you believe that Bryce Harper has hit home runs in each of the situations below while the Phillies managed to lose all three of these games?
- August 23: Bryce Harper game-tying 3-Run home run. Phillies lost to Giants in 10 innings.
- August 30: Bryce Harper go-ahead 2-run home run. Phillies lost to Angels in 9 innings.
- September 11: Bryce Harper game-tying 2-run home run. Phillies lost to Braves in 10 innings.
Absolutely incredible and flat out ridiculous at the same time.
