WATCH: Shannon Sharpe says Eagles defense has no hope stopping Dak Prescott and Dallas this week

No matter how good the Eagles record is or how impressive the performance on the field is, there’s always someone who has something negative to say about them. Shannon Sharpe decided to take a crack at it Sunday night on his podcast, “Nightcap With Unc and Ocho.

After the Eagles clinched the season sweep over Washington on Sunday, beating the Commanders 38-31 at FedEx Field, Sharpe bashed Philadelphia, essentially saying they have no shot to slow down Dak Prescott and ther Cowboys offense next week.

“Sam Howell threw for almost 400. What you think Dak, CeeDee, and them WR’s thinking?” Sharpe said. “Ooh let me get an extra helping of that. Extra helping of Bradberry, gimmie a side of that Slay. Byard just got there, I want extra helpings of him.”

Giving up almost 400 passing yards and four touchdowns to Sam Howell is obviously unacceptable, but for some reason or another, the Eagles defense just has a hard time against the Commanders QB. Against every other quarterback this season, Sean Desai’s group has been stout. Just last week they stifled the best offense in the game, holding them to just 17 points when they were averaging 37 coming into the game.

I don’t know why Howell goes off on this team, but I do know it’s not a sign of things to come. Desai’s group has proven themselves throughout the year and have shown the ability to slow down some of the best offenses in the game. I have faith they’ll be able to do the same against Dak and Co.
