Another Day, Another Eagles Doc: Saquon Barkley up next, directed by Martin Scorsese, drops same day Birds Face Giants
Saquon gets his own documentary and at this point, you have to wonder how many movies can one football team star in? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll watch every single one of them. But it feels like every week there’s a new trailer dropping about the Eagles.
I just got done watching the one that was on last night about all of the Eagles winning the Super Bowl last year. If I’m not mistaken, there was another one before that and if you keep going back, you have “Kelce.” Now we’re whatever NFL is cooking up next. It’s nonstop.
Anyways, that brings us to the Saquon Barkley documentary hitting Prime Video on October 9th, produced by Martin freaking Scorsese of all people.
Saquon premieres October 9.
I know Cass wrote about this already but god damn, the timing couldn’t be more poetic. The doc premieres the exact same day the Birds roll into MetLife to play the Giants on Thursday Night Football.
Saquon’s return to New York, Philly’s flex in primetime, and a full-blown Scorsese production about the Eagles’ newest superstar. That’s not a coincidence. That’s marketing gold.

The film covers Saquon’s rollercoaster, going from the face of the Giants, to the ugly divorce, to the Super Bowl parade down Broad Street.
What a gift. The Eagles get to stomp on his old team while Amazon pumps out fresh content for your watchlist.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t turn out to be incredibly soft and nothing like actual Philly sports fandom like that dumb Trea Turner thing on Netflix that aired smack dab in the middle of Red October while the Phillies embarrassed themselves against the Mets.
That whole ovation thing was a disaster and the “Philly Captain” ultimately blocked TLL because I said it was stupid.
I was right. He is soft. Go figure.
Luckily this is Saquon and Martin Scorsese. We’re talking De Niro, DiCaprio, and now Barkley.
One of them is a lunatic suffering from TDS, one of them is the greatest actors to ever live, and of them put up 2,000 yards and carried Philly to a Lombardi.
You figure out which one is which.
So yeah, all of this is happening while the actual Eagles are on record saying they don’t even want to look back at last year. Fuck tonight’s banner reveal, no ceremonial nostalgia, just on to the next one.
We’re lucky that’s how things are going and honestly, it’s the way it should be. As long as Saquon is running the rock down the throats of anyone who dares to get in his way, it’s all fine by me.
GO BIRDS.
