WATCH: Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jared Jones breaks Brewers’ Brice Turang’s ankles with nasty breaking ball
Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jared Jones broke the ankles of Milwaukee Brewers Brice Turang on Monday night with one of the nastiest pitches baseball has witnessed this season.
On a 1-2 pitch in the top of the third inning last night against the Brewers, Jones completely fooled Brice Turang on a nasty breaking ball that sent the infielder to his knees.
After a failed attempt at checking his swing, Turang literally fell to the ground with his bat crossing the plate for strike three.

Jared Jones made his MLB debut on March 30, 2024. He has been impressive over his first five starts in the majors, notching 39 strikeouts in 29 innings of work.
After a hot start to the 2024 MLB season, the Pittsburgh Pirates have cooled down a bit and are just 3-7 over their last 10 games, sitting in fourth place in the National League Central.
Thankfully, the Pirates have a laundry list of young, promising players, including Jared Jones and No. 1 overall pick from LSU, Paul Skenes making his way through the minor leagues.
Note: Paul Skenes has 27 STRIKEOUTS in just 12.2 innings at the minor league level this season – which is absolutely ridiculous.
