Mason Miller bullpen entrance Oakland Athletics

A’s pitcher Mason Miller is concerned the lights would never turn back on at the Oakland Coliseum if he had light show entrance out of the bullpen

It’s no secret the Oakland Athletics continue to play home in the worst ballpark in Major League Baseball. It’s gotten so bad, that A’s pitcher Mason Miller recently appeared on “Foul Territory” to pile on the current conditions of the Oakland Coliseum.

To Miller’s credit, the Oakland Coliseum is literally falling apart. They have raccoons running wild throughout the stadium, fans “get busy” in broad daylight, and even their own play-by-play announcer sounds like she would rather be anywhere else in the world than calling the team’s games from the broadcast booth.

From conspiracy theories about lineup decisions to the fact that the Athletics will be playing next season in a minor league ballpark located in Sacramento, California there’s a laundry list of reasons to complain about the current (and temporary) state of baseball in Oakland.

Oakland Athletics, MLB fans are convinced that players who support the protests to prevent move to Las Vegas is promptly removed from the major league roster and they might be right >>

That brings us to Oakland Athletics pitcher Mason Miller, who cracked a few jokes about the Oakland Coliseum in a recent appearance on “Foul Territory”.

Miller was asked if he was working on the new “trend” in Major League Baseball in having an elaborate light show entrance when he comes out of the bullpen. He said while he has been “experimenting” with a fancy entrance, including killing the lights before he runs out onto the field, he’s not sure if the A’s can actually pull it off because of concerns that the lights might not ever come back on.

Mason Miller on custom closer entrance in Oakland:

“We’re trying a couple things out,” Miller said. “We talked about the lights. I don’t think that’s gonna happen. They said the lights might not come back on. … They seemed like they were kind of experimenting with something. They shut all the scoreboard lights off until I picked the ball up on the mound, but that was a little more of like an awkward silence until I got to the mound. I think they’re working on it.”

Mason Miller also said he’s not sure if or when they even turn the lights off at Oakland Coliseum. He said there have been times where he leaves the ballpark late or drives by and the lights are still on.

Funny stuff from the Oakland Athletics’ closer. Mason Miller, a 25-year old pitcher from Pittsburgh, PA is off to a dominant start this season, posting a 1.10 ERA over 13 games with 8 saves and a 0.67 WHIP across 16.1 innings.

We’ll see if he gets optioned to Triple A or traded following his comments – which would ultimately be just one of many A’s players caught up in the conspiracy
