Joe Girardi: “It’s Important I Continue to See Segura at 3rd and Kingery at 2nd”

MUSIC. TO. MY. EARS.
Joe Girardi on Scott Kingery

SEVEN.
Scott Kingery has played 7 different positions since joining the Phillies major league ball club. 7 different positions. Unbelievable. Talk about a utility guy:
- Shortstop
- Second Base
- Third Base
- Left Field
- Center Field
- Right Field
- Pitcher.
Spring training is all about trial and error and Girardi did state previously that he wasn’t sure what position Kingery will actually land. My vote is for the second base. The hype around Scott as a potential “gold-glove” talent when he entered the league was crazy. “The Heir to Chase Utley” was going around (at least in my apartment).
It’s time to give Scott a shot. Move Segura to 3rd Base until Alec Bohm takes over and gives Scotty the keys to second. I literally can’t say this enough. Hearing Girardi comment saying how important it is to see Kingery at 2nd is music to my ears.
Girardi is already getting into the details, studying guys, building reports, and all types of other shit to show that he’s locked in and ready to go.
It’s #JETPAXSZN – I’m beyond excited to see the progress of Kingery this year and the Phillies overall.
