Phillies Spring Training Notes: February 27th

Quick Notes from Today’s Action in Clearwater: The Phillies beat the Boston Red Sox 12-6.
PITCHING:
Nick Pivetta was on the mound today for his 2nd appearance in Spring Training. Pivetta pitched 2.2 innings surrendering 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, and striking out 5. Rebounding from a rough start his first time out – Pivetta pitched much better and made his case to survive another day in the fight for 5th arm in the rotation.
AT THE PLATE:
It was a god damn hit parade out there today. Phillies totaled 20 hits – including home runs from both Scott Kingery and Deivy Grullon.
Kingery and Hoskins were really the only two household names playing today. Scotty had 3 RBI’s and Hoskins 1 for 3 with a run scored. Alec Bohm continues to make his case for an opening day roster spot going 1 for 1 with 2 RBIs.
Next Up: Braves at Phillies – Tomorrow 1:05pm.
