The Lack of Phillies Spring Training Coverage is Absurd

If the Phillies play a spring training game and its not on TV or even the radio, is it even played? With only 10 games of the Phillies’ spring training exhibition schedule being televised (7/10 are on while I’m at work ) it doesn’t even seem like baseball is back. The only thing keeping me going is the thought that an over-sized rat whispered to some old boomer that spring (baseball season) was coming early this year.
First I wait through another letdown Eagles’ season and then a flat out disappointing Sixers’ season just to be disallowed from watching future single ‘A’ lifers wear number 88 and live out their childhood dreams, what did I do to deserve this?
NBC Sports Philly not carrying Phillies Spring Training coverage is absurd.

A short 6 (5ish) years ago the Phillies inked a 25-year contract with then Comcast Sports Net, now NBC Sports Philadelphia, Worth an upwards of 2.5 billion dollars. 2.5 BILLION and we now just get 10 games during spring training, which by the way decreased by 6 with 16 being televised last year.
On the one year anniversary of signing a 13 year/ 330 million dollar contract with the Phils, Bryce Harper made his spring training debut. He ended up ripping a bases-clearing double into the outfield somewhere, I can’t say for sure because the only angle of this was on someone’s cell phone standing on the first baseline, not on a 2.5 billion dollar NBCSN HD camera.

First of all Mr. Skversky, relax. Secondly, this would have been awesome to see. ESPECIALLY on the one year Bryceversary.
Bryce Harper will play his first Grapefruit League game today. He’s batting third and playing RF.

It would have been a nice line-up to watch.
Listen, I know that the regular season will be here soon enough and I will be able to watch baseball again 3-6 nights a week. I could just be watching meaningless baseball now instead of waiting until the end of March.
Play those tiny violins for me folks, it’s going to be a long month.
[…] The lack of Phillies Spring Training coverage is certainly unfortunate for baseball purists who will watch no matter what, but it’s also impossible to evaluate the future stars on this team with your own eyes. Over the next few weeks, I’ll throw a spotlight on the prospects making the most noise in Clearwater this year in preparation for the 2020 season. […]
[…] Bryce Harper sat down with a crazy old man today to discuss the upcoming Phillies season and his experience so far in Philadelphia. Harper continues to say all the right things and has the city of Philadelphia hyped for baseball season already. Spring Training is currently taking place in Clearwater, even if you haven’t seen much on TV. […]
