DeSean Jackson: “I’m just trying to shatter all the records”

I am fired up to have DeSean Jackson back and I don’t care who knows it.

DeSean did not want to wait until this upcoming season to start breaking more records, he wanted it in 2019. In Week 1, he popped off for: 8 catches, 154 yards, and 2 TDs. The two touchdowns allowed him to surpass Randy Moss (29) for second-most 50+ yard TDs (31). Now, only Jerry Rice stands in his way with 36.  He was off to a hot start and nothing was seemingly going to slow down the Wentz-Jackson connection.

 

That all ended when Jackson sustained a core injury against the Atlanta Falcons during their Week 2 Matchup. After finally coming back Week 9 against the Bears, his injury was re-aggravated causing the Eagles to finally shut him down and place him on IR. Consequently, he underwent surgery to repair the core-muscle injury the following Tuesday. All around, it was a disappointing season for DeSean, but that’s because he wasn’t able to get on the field. While he was out there, you could see the mismatches he created all around the offensive side of the ball.

You are absolutely kidding yourself if that Week 1 Redskins-Eagles matchup didn’t leave you hungry for more. We will all have to wait and see if this injury causes DeSean to lose a step, but I have complete faith in his ability if healthy. His mentality during that interview should give you a glimpse into his competitive nature. The guy wants to win, and the guy wants to perform. And when he wants to perform, things like this happen:
