Both Embiid and Richardson look to be available tomorrow night against the Detroit Pistons. Richardson has been fully cleared to play. Embiid is listed as questionable.
However, I’m still a bit concerned he’s coming back early from a concussion. Per J-Rich:
“It’s just been weird. Dark room for a few days, couldn’t even go to games, just trying to keep the sensory stuff low and figure it out. Last few days there has been some headaches and that’s what has been worrying me, but hopefully, it’s over with or close to it.”
Still no word on Ben Simmons. The Sixers return home for 5 out of their next 6 games after a tough road trip out west. Embiid’s return from injury couldn’t come at a better time. With 18 games left in the regular season, the Sixers are in desperate need of a run.
Richardson and Embiid should definitely help make that happen. Before getting injured against the Cavs – Embiid was absolutely destroying opposing teams – most notably his game against the Atlanta Hawks.
The Sixers have 4 straight home games before heading to Charlotte. We all know how well the Sixers play at home. They are currently a league’s best 28-2 at home this year.
We’ll take it one game at a time with this team, but getting wins against the Pacers and Raptors at home this week will definitely boost confidence as we close out the season and begin preparation for the playoffs.
But for now, Embiid and Richardson both returning to action soon, and focusing on tomorrow night against Detroit is all we can worry about.
