Key Points: Elton Brand Speaks with Media

Updates coming from Elton Brand and the Sixers today, as Brand kicked off a busy day speaking with the media, season ticket holders, and Sixers partners (that would be me, thank you).
The Sixers also released a plan to start the refund process for people who have purchased tickets to the remaining games that are left unpaid. For full details – check out this article by Kyle Neubeck.
The Sixers will begin rolling out ticket refund options starting today. It’s good news for people with season ticket packages, while fans who bought individual tickets might remain in limbo for a bit https://t.co/0lDhQXaZbp

Brand on Today’s Conference Call:
Ben Simmons is doing, “really, really well…we’ve been able to arrange for him to receive necessary treatment during this hiatus.” Optimistic he’ll play if/when league returns.
Brand says the team brought equipment, such as exercise bikes and ellipticals, for their players who didn’t have any at home to stay in shape during the hiatus
Brand says he has had daily Facetime calls with Brett Brown, whose staff he says continues to prep for the season as if it will continue
Brand says Sixers players have had Zoom calls and digital happy hours throughout the hiatus, which he regrets he has not been invited to
Brand says they haven’t made a determination yet on whether they’re going to directly replace Marc Eversley, who was hired by Chicago to be their GM. Says they are always looking for ways to make their organization better, but that they’re happy with who they have.
Brand has added that he’s on a committee that’s committed to returning to play and is optimistic that this season will return.
Brand says Embiid has been working on his conditioning throughout the hiatus and that he has frequently been in contact with the team to figure out when he can bring his trainer with him to the practice facility
Brand has added that they’re focusing on all scenarios for the playoffs, including the Boston Celtics who they would play in Round 1 if the regular season just gets scrapped
“We’re going to encourage him to shoot…but where he is as a player, he is very dominant” – Brand on Ben Simmons shooting
Brand and the Sixers have already started the draft process. Have relied on virtual interviews.
All positive, somewhat generic news coming from Brand and the 76ers today. It did sound like he was optimistic for an NBA return to action – which is always great to hear. Heading straight into the playoffs against Boston sounds VERY intriguing, especially given the health updates of the Sixers and recent success against the Celtics.
If the NBA resumes straight into the playoffs, a healthy Sixers team would be a tough opponent. The Sixers would play Boston in the 1st Round, a team they beat 3 out of 4 times during the regular season, which included a rare win on the road. pic.twitter.com/kXjNrplH46
