Bryce Harper’s Proposal for the MLB

Last night, Bryce Harper, who’s been super active on social platforms as of late, posted a new idea for Major League Baseball.
I love Bryce Harper speaking his mind. It’s good to see some superstar baseball players get media attention. Even if he was just doing this for fun and throwing out an idea, baseball desperately needs players voices in the discussion.
Whether you agree with him or not, Harper has, and continues to offer honest opinions. Will that come back and bite him in the ass? Maybe. But there’s definitely something to say about his honesty and willingness to speak on certain issues.
Not everyone agrees with me here – Twitter is bashing him saying “he shouldn’t speak because he makes $300 million”. Steven A Smith and the bozos at ESPN also echoed thee criticisms. They’re all wrong, of course.
In case you weren’t aware. Just because someone gets paid a lot of money doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to weigh in on topics regarding their place of employment, health, safety, and financial situations. You don’t have to agree with Bryce Harper, but he certainly doesn’t deserve the criticism.
His stance on the Olympics and MLB blackouts is also fantastic. This guy just wants to grow the game of baseball. Back to what he posted last night, here’s his proposal for the MLB season and playoffs.
Baseball Season:
Beyond the health and safety which comes first for all players, staff, workers, fans, and families. ⠀
⠀
Just an idea I have been thinking about. ⠀
⠀
East/West like NBA. ⠀
⠀
July 31 days⠀
August 31 days ⠀
September 30 days ⠀
October 31 days ⠀
November 15 days ⠀
135 games. ⠀
Off day every 2 weeks on a Monday and Sunday double header 7 innings. ⠀
⠀
30 players. 6 man rotation. Save arms. IF pitchers wanted this. If not no big deal. DH and any other ideas possible.⠀
⠀
Playoffs:
2 week World Series. Like Super bowl week. ⠀
⠀
10 teams round robin format College World Series kinda style at the new Texas Stadium or whatever stadium/ stadiums are best. 3 game series. You win the series you move on. You lose you play the other loser in a 1 game wildcard. Winner of that moves on. Other team is out.
Or you could play it in Vegas so you have the Strip Hotels and could use one hotel for all the guys and contain possibly? ⠀
⠀
2 teams left 7 game World Series. They get 2 days off before the series. With those 2 days off you do a All Star Game and homerun derby. Could do the MLB awards as well at that time.
⠀
Open this up on all platforms. No blackouts. Open it for everybody to watch. ⠀
Then you back up season the next 2 years. May 1st 2021. April 1st 2022. Maybe I’m crazy. Just fun to think about and throw around ideas🤪
I absolutely love the idea. Well, almost all of it. For the sake of the game, if Bryce would be willing to keep it at 9 innings, I would be 100% in. The 6-7-8 innings of a baseball game are probably the most important and really puts some weight on the managers to correctly navigate their team. I think that’s important. Everything else sounds great. Count me in.
Bryce, still working hard in Vegas as we await the start of the MLB season.
Stayin ready. Let’s get it!🤐 #LateNightVibes pic.twitter.com/v8kuP6SYzj
