Flyers Playoff Hockey is BACK.

With the NHL closing the deal on the new 24-team playoff format to finish out this season, the Flyers have the entire city of Philadelphia ready to run through a brick wall.

The detailed return to play, outlined earlier this week by the NHL is the perfect plan to return to play. (Take Notes, MLB) While there’s no start date yet, we can’t help but look ahead after the Flyers twitter account is just dropping massive hype videos.

Stay ready. Here’s what you need know:

The 4th seeded Flyers will be a part of the Round Robin seeding.

What does this mean?

The Flyers will play each of the Eastern Conference’s top three teams once before meeting their opening-round opponent. The total points during the round robin will determine the conference’s seed numbers 1-4.

Tie games will be determined by regular-season overtime and shootout rules. The regular-season points percentages of each club will serve as the tiebreaker.

Does it matter which seed the Flyers pull?

In my opinion, not really. Look at the round robin part of the tournament and consider it a great time to get some warmup games in before the actual tournament begins. No matter where they fall in the 1-4 seeding, the Flyers went 22-8-5 against the Eastern Conference playoff field during the regular season. I like their chances regardless of where they fall.

Take a moment and laugh at the following teams:

Sabres, Devils, Senators, Red Wings, Ducks, Kings and Sharks. These losers didn’t make the tournament.

From there, there’s really only one thing left to do:

Also worth noting, thanks to Gritty:

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
