Zhaire Smith (knee) not making the trip to Disney World

Sixers guard Zhaire Smith is ruled out for Disney World. Smith suffered a bone bruise in his left knee prior to Sixers resuming workouts. He is expected to make a full recovery.
As you probably are aware, Smith was the Sixers’ first round pick in 2018 and missed almost all of his rookie season after suffering a foot fracture, on top of dealing with a crippling allergic reaction.
Smith continues to experience issues remaining healthy. He’s played in a total of 13 NBA games – 7 of which came this season. In the G-League, the 21 year old averaged 13.5 points and shot a near 38% from three point range in 28 games.
Good news is that Zhaire is still really young. Hopefully this is just another minor setback in him turning into a 1st round talent.
Since Smith is out due to injury, and not COVID-19 positive or opting out of playing, the Sixers will not be able to make a roster move to replace him.
