Mike Scott speaks on being cool with Redskins name change, owner change, and more.

Mike Scott, known Redskins fan after the incident that took place last Eagles’ season, spoke today with the media on a zoom call and commented about the Redskins potential name change.
Lots of options. Redtails, Tuskegee (connection), I saw something like that. You know they’ve been trying to change the name, and you know, I’m all for that. Change it. Shit, change the owner. You know what I’m saying? But yeah, if they want to change it to represent something else, that’s cool. That’s good. Like I said, I’m all about just doing it (instead of talking). If they want to change it, I’m with that. Change the owner, too.
Since taking over the Redskins in the late 90’s – Daniel Snyder and the team continues to stink. Might as well just change everything about them, including the owner. Couldn’t agree more Mike.
Mike also commented on the Sixers, the NBA’s idea to allow players to put slogans on the back of their jerseys and more. Here are a few more key points:
“They gave us some names and phrases to put on the back of the jerseys, and that was terrible. It was a bad list, bad choice. They didn’t give players a chance to voice their opinion, they just gave us a list to pick from. That was bad. That’s terrible.
I don’t know how you can use your platform, I don’t know… vote, of course vote, see what laws we can change. But I’m all about just doing instead of saying, posting, putting something on the back your jersey. I don’t think that’s gonna stop anything.
Bingo. Another great statement from Mike Scott here. Couldn’t agree more. The NBA listed a bunch of phrases that could be used. Here’s what Mike was talking about:
Black Lives Matter, Say Their Names, Vote, I Can’t Breathe, Justice, Peace, Equality, Freedom, Enough, Power to the People, Justice Now, Say Her Name, Sà Se Puede (Yes We Can), Liberation, See Us, Hear Us, Respect Us, Love Us, Listen, Listen to Us, Stand Up, Ally; Anti-Racist, I Am A Man, Speak Up, How Many More, Group Economics, Education Reform, and Mentor.
Scott also spoke on playing in front of no fans in Disney.
Mike Scott said he feels like the games in Disney will feel like a scrimmage with no fans in the crowd.

Can’t argue with that. Will be interesting to see how players “get-up” for a game with no fans. It will be important to control that mentality and much needed energy before the game. For the Sixers, it’s especially important, given the fact that they were absolutely terrible on the road and dominant at home.
Mike Scott hitting on all cylinders today. Really hope he comes back with a jump shot when the season resumes later this month. The Sixers could REALLY use Mike Scott circa last year’s playoffs off the bench.
