Zach Eflin takes the mound tonight against the Orioles

The Phillies lost 10-9 in a wacky extra innings game last night. They’ll look to rebound tonight with Zach Eflin on the mound.
Eflin pitched well in his last outing against the Yankees. Limited to just 77 pitches, he allowed 4 hits and no runs. He will go against veteran pitcher Wade LeBlanc, who struggled in his previous outing allowing 6 runs in 3.1 innings to the MLB Powerhouse Miami Marlins. LeBlanc is 1-0 on the season with an 6.91 ERA.
It will be important for Eflin to pitch well tonight given the Phillies struggles with the bullpen. Joe Girardi acknowledged just how bad the bullpen has been for the Phillies last night.
“We have not pitched well as a bullpen,” Girardi said. “We’ve made some changes. We hope that it’s going to get better. It has to get better. That’s the bottom line.”
The 5-7 Phillies need a win here. The bats need to come out swinging against a pitcher who’s struggled to keep his ERA down this season.
Bryce Harper has found success against LeBlanc in the past, going 3-for-10, HR, three RBI. Just like any other night, Bryce needs to set the tone for the rest of the lineup and hope someone else besides JT Realmuto or the DH position will contribute.
The Phillies should win this game but after last night, you simply never know what you’re going to get from this team. Regardless, let’s ride.
Phillies -1.5 and o7.5 runs.
Ring that bell, baby.
