Phillies Beat Red Sox 13-6

Bryce Harper and the Phillies crushed the Boston Red Sox last night at Fenway. The Phillies MVP candidate hit a 3-run home run during a seven-run sixth inning as the Philadelphia Phillies came from behind to beat the Red Sox 13-6.

The Phillies have now won 4 straight games and improve to 9-9 on the season.

Rhys Hoskins, Phil Gosselin, and Jay Bruce also homered for the Phillies, who early on, were down 3-0 and then 4-2 before busting things open in the sixth inning. The Phillies sent nine batters to the plate with 2 outs and walked away with seven hits and seven runs. 10 of the Phillies 13 runs came with two outs last night.

The Phillies are averaging 5.72 runs per game this season. It is the highest mark in baseball. The offense is on fire. Since last Monday, the Phillies are hitting .310/.370/.562 with a .931 OPS. In 8 games, the Phillies have hit an impressive 17 home runs and scored 61 runs and struck out just 66 times.

Rhys Hoskins is back.

Bryce Harper is in the MVP race.

Phil Gosselin has six extra base hits in 27 at bats.

Alec Bohm was 2 for 3 with 2 walks and TLL dropped this BOHM SQUAD t-shirt.

Things are really looking up for the Phillies.

Jake Arrieta takes the mound this afternoon as the Phillies will look to win 5 straight games and sweep the 2-game series in Boston. Arrieta pitched 4 solid innings against the Orioles last time out before running into some trouble in the 5th inning. He will go up against Kyle Hart who’s 0-1 with an ERA north of 22 after getting torched by the Rays in this MLB Debut.
