Jeff Passan Reporting:
Trade news: The New York Yankees acquired RP Addison Russ from the Philadelphia Phillies, sources tell ESPN. The 25-year-old right-hander has been dominant over his minor league career, with a 2.48 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 152.2 innings. He’ll head to New York’s alternate site.

What a fantastic move by the Phillies. A team that has absolutely zero pitching issues what-so-ever decide to trade away a guy who has averaged 11.8k / 9 innings in his career.
Who needs a guy like that? A young arm? No thank you. We’re all set up here in the big leagues. 25 years old. Dominant. Get him outta here.
Not to mention, have you seen this handsome devil? This guy looks great, apparently pitches great, and the Yankees now have them.
Veteran right-hander David Hale, who was DFA’d by the Yankees earlier in the week, is headed back to the Phillies in the trade for Addison Russ, sources tell ESPN.
Someone just end the misery now.
Ring that bell, baby
