Nola roughed up, Phillies lose in Atlanta 11-2

Marcell Ozuna homered twice and drove in four runs as Atlanta beat the crap out of Aaron Nola and the Phillies 11-2 on Friday night. Travis d’Arnaud and Ozuna hit back-to-back homers off Nola in a 4-run third inning. D’Arnaud, who drove in three runs, and Ozuna each got three hits.
Reggie McLain and Cole Irvin came in for relief and let up 8 hits and 7 runs. With the exception of Phil Gosselin’s infield single in the 1st and a Knapp double to score Hoskins in the 7th, the Phillies offense was stagnant.
Scott Kingery did have a pretty amazing catch last night. So that was cool, I guess.

The Phillies did make a few moves for their bullpen with two trades on Friday. Announced during the game last night, Philadelphia obtained right-handed pitchers Brandon Workman and Heath Hembree from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for right-handers Nick Pivetta and Connor Seabold. Nick Pivetta is finally gone. Never thought I would see the day.
Phillies pitcher Jojo Romero made his MLB debut last night and pitched one inning with 3 strikeouts. Encouraging stuff from a young prospect.
