FLYERS WIN GAME 6 IN OT. FORCE A GAME 7

IVAN PROVOROV!! IVAN PROVOROV!! Are you kidding me with this game? Are you kidding me with this TEAM? Resilient isn’t the word, I can’t find the words right now. Where do I even start?
Oskar Lindblom
Tonight kicked off in a very emotional way for me personally and thousands of others. Oskar Lindblom, who was diagnosed with cancer in December, made his 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff debut. His first game since December 7th.

Just an absolutely beautiful story.
Oskar. Strong.

Quick Start
Kevin Hayes kicked the boys off with a shot from the slot that finds twine. JVR with a John Leclair looking shot made it 2-0 Flyers
JVR has looked really good the past couple of games, he’s moving his feet, using that huge frame, and playing some really inspiring hockey right now.
JVR hasn't taken off his big boy pants since Game 5. #AnytimeAnywhere | #PHIvsNYI pic.twitter.com/7VFXMKR1wK

Late period collapses have really hurt the Flyers in this series and it didn’t stop today. Towards the end of the 1st, Brassard makes it 2-1.
2nd period
Not the best start ever, I’ll admit that. Matt Martin & Anders Lee both score early on to quickly take the lead right back from under us.
Michael Raffl, back from injury (I think?) ties it up on a rebound. Nicholas Aube Kubel finds some room down low, moves his way back down to the blue line, makes a move, and flings the puck on goal, absolutely beautiful.

Matthew Barzal comes back about 6 minutes later, steals the puck from Sanhiem who was at the end of a shift, and absolutely picks a corner. That kid is a superstar.

Carter Hart
You need a goalie to win in the playoffs, bottom line, plain and simple. Boy, do we have one, finally. 49 saves on 53 shots, Carter Hart was amazing tonight. Big save after big save to keep the boys alive.
I agree, Flyers twitter, he’s pretty good.

2.12 GAA and a .929 SV% in the playoffs, Carter Hart will get a shot at a Game 7.
Wild Finish
After coming up huge and killing off a lethal Islanders penalty, Scott Laughton after scoring the Game 5 OT winner, ties Game 6 up with a beautiful forehand, backhand, back to forehand goal. AMAZING.

Laughton was a healthy scratch for a game in these playoffs, goes to show you the depth and “Next man up” mentality this team has. Everyone contributes.

Live video of me during both OT periods leading up to Ivan Provorov OT winner.
Kevin Hayes, who’s been brilliant this series, enters the zone. Mayfield doesn’t have a stick so Hayes has a little bit more freedom to make a move. Takes the puck down low and centers it, you know the rest.
