Phillies win in extras 6-5 to complete the 4-game sweep

Zach Eflin was on the mound as the Phillies looked to complete the prophecy and win 9 of the last 10 games. They did just that and beat the Nationals 6-5 in extras completing the 4-game sweep.
A sweep of the Nationals was just icing on the cake. The Phillies got on the board early after Harper and Realmuto both scored on an error and Didi Gregorius reached 1st safely. Right out of the gate, Bryce and JT both got hits which was great to see after their recent struggles at the plate.

Zach Eflin started the game with 5 strikeouts through 2.2 innings. He ran into some trouble shortly after a ball from Trea Turner got away from Roman Quinn for an inside the park home run. Really wasn’t Eflins fault, Roman Quinn consistently can’t track balls in the outfield.
The game was tied 2-2 before none other than Rhys Hoskins came up the following inning and crushed yet another home run to give the Phillies the lead. The Phillies were able to add on another run as Gregorius doubled, scoring JT Realmuto.

The Phillies had a great opportunity to add to the lead in the 4th inning but with the bases loaded, both Bryce Harper and JT Realmuto struck out to end the inning.
Eflin ran into trouble again in the 5th inning and had a runner on third with Juan Soto at the plate. Maybe walk Juan Soto to put a man on 1st with 2 outs? Nope. Eflin went after him and paid for it. Soto singled to center to tie the game 4-4.
Not the greatest start for Eflin but the Phillies definitely left a lot of opportunities to score slip away. He exited the game pitching 6.0 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 runs, and striking out 5.
David Phelps relieved Eflin in the 7th and surrendered the lead to the Nationals in the top of the 7th to make the game 5-4 in the Nationals favor.
Andrew McCutchen came to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 8th and 1 out. He grounded into a fielders choice, Didi scored, and the game was tied yet again.
The game would head to extras and Alec Bohm would end it on a sac fly to center. Bohm was 4-5 on the night with 3 singles and the sac fly.

The Phillies have one 9 of 10 games. They sweep the Nationals. They improve to 18-15 on the season.
Ring that bell, baby.
