Ben Simmons makes 1st Team All-Defense

The NBA announced the All-Defensive teams today and Ben Simmons has made the first team officially. This is Simmons first All-Defense nomination of his career and he joins Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Rudy Gobert, and Marcus Smart.
Ben made the 1st team in the Guard slot over Patrick Beverley and Eric Bledsoe. Simmons has been absolutely phenomenal in 2020 averaging over 2.1 steals per game and often being the Sixers primary defender against opposing teams top players.
Joel Embiid was a 2nd team nomination last season but was snubbed from either team this season, with Rudy Gobert and Brook Lopez making both teams over Joel. With the future uncertain in Philadelphia, Joel and Ben look to be elite defensive anchors for the Sixers for the years to come alongside rookie phenom Matisse Thybulle.
