Report: Miles Sanders and Derek Barnett OUT for Week 1

The Eagles play their first game of the 2020 NFL season tomorrow and look to be without their starting running back.
Sanders was out almost all of Training Camp until this week with a hamstring injury. The Eagles are being very cautious with this situation as Sanders is poised for a breakout sophomore season. With Sanders out, the Eagles will have to rely on Corey Clement and Boston Scott in the backfield. The team is looking ahead for the rest of the season and not rushing him back against one of the worst teams in the league, it’s a smart decision.
The Eagles will also be without their starting defensive end Derek Barnett tomorrow. Barnett has been out of Camp with a hamstring injury and is entering a “prove it” year. This gives Josh Sweat a chance to contribute. Sweat has reportedly looked great in camp. Luckily, the Eagles have depth at defensive line, so Barnett’s absence shouldn’t be noticed.
