Ben Simmons receives All-NBA Team Honors

The NBA announced today that Ben Simmons was names to the 2019-20 All-NBA Third Team. This marks the first such honor of Simmons’ career. He is the 15th 76er in franchise history to receive All-NBA recognition. Joel Embiid was named to the second team last season.
Simmons was an All-Star that averaged 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.0 assists per game. Named to his first career NBA All-Defensive Team as a First Team selection last week, Simmons also led the league with an average of 2.1 steals per game.
The 2019-20 season marks the third straight season in which at least one 76er has been named to an All-NBA team (Embiid, Second Team 2018-19 and 2017-18). It is the first such streak since a five-year stretch from 1998-2003, which included a combined seven All-NBA nods between Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famers Allen Iverson (1998-2003) and Dikembe Mutombo (2000-02).
Looks like Simmons has been back in the gym getting some infamous offseason content and workouts in too.
Next season is right around the corner.
