Jake Arrieta done for the regular season

News today from the Phillies as Jake Arrieta will miss the remainder of the regular season with a hamstring injury. This should come as no surprise to anyone. He was only slated for two more starts over the final 2 weeks of the season.
The Phillies will most likely part ways with Jake Arrieta who never really found his groove in Philadelphia. The ball club coughed up $75 million dollars for 64 stars over the past 3 years. His ERA never fell below 3.96. Really though, what did you expect from an aging pitcher that was batting injuries and past his prime? Blame the contract too.
Girardi stated today that Arrieta could possibly return if the Phillies hang on to a playoff spot. I’ve been adamant all season long that Zach Eflin should be the Phillies’ 3rd starter during the playoffs anyways.
It would be something to see Arrieta come back from injury, during his last games as a Phillie, and make some noise in the playoffs. It’s 2020. Crazier things have happened.
