Eagles bring Devonta Freeman in for workout

According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Philadelphia Eagles will host former Atlanta Falcons Running Back Devonta Freeman. Freeman is reportedly in Philadelphia now and his timetable for his workout is scheduled for next week. The Eagles are in need of the running back unit after a lackluster performance from Corey Clement against the Washington Football Team and could help add some much-needed depth to the group.
Freeman was with Atlanta for the past 6 seasons before being replaced by Todd Gurley this offseason. Devonta rushed for over 650 yards in 2019 and could be a valuable piece for this group. Injuries have often been a concern for the former Atlanta RB but in a controlled snap environment, he could flourish well.
If he is brought in, I could expect to see him be the third back to Boston Scott and likely be the backup in main down situations and keep Boston Scott as the 3rd down Running Back. Either way, this is an exciting possible signing for Philadelphia they could bring in for very cheap.
