Never a doubt: Vinny & the bullpen give Phillies their 3rd straight win

I have never said a bad word about the Phillies bullpen. I knew they would get it together and be clutch when we needed them most. Tonight, that’s exactly what happened. Credit to me.
Vinny Velasquez pitched one heck of a game tonight. He threw six innings, allowed one run, and struck out six batters as the Phillies beat the Blue Jays 3-1 to give them their 3rd straight victory.
Blake Parker, David Phelps, and Tommy Hunter threw a combined three scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Nine up and nine down for the bullpen. It was their first time all season long that they were able to throw three consecutive 1-2-3 innings.
Andrew Knapp is the best catcher in baseball. He’s batting .389 with 9RBI with RISP. He has been HUGE for the Phillies while JT Realmuto is out nursing a left hip injury.
Cutch knocked in a run and Adam Haseley gave the Phillies some insurance in the 8th inning to put the Phils’ up 3-1. Haseley has 10 RBIs in his last 10 games and is batting a smooth .400 with only two strikeouts.
It’s games like these everyone needs to enjoy. Sit back, enjoy the rest of your Saturday night and of course, Ring that bell, baby.
