76ers expected to begin Head Coach interviews soon

According to Shams Charania, several sources believe the Sixers will begin the official process of hiring a new head coach within the next 10 days. The candidates expected to be in Philadelphia to interview include Mike D’Antoni, Ty Lue, and Billy Donovan. D’Antoni recently parted ways with the Houston Rockets after their second round exit to the Los Angeles Lakers and has been a top candidate around the league. His schematic fit with the Sixers is not ideal with often using a perimeter centric offense.
Ty Lue is also expected to be another top candidate around the league and according to Scoop B, he is expected to be in the race for the Houston head coaching gig. The race seems like Ty Lue’s to lose in Philadelphia. An interesting note though, the staff from Colangelo’s tenure did want Mike D’Antoni to replace Brown several years ago.
Other news within the Front Office, Elton Brand will be looking to bring on new additions to his staff and has had conversations with multiple NBA Front Office personnel, according to Charania. Keith Pompey reported earlier this week that several league sources expect the Sixers to let go of Alex Rucker, while Ned Cohen and Sergi Olivia’s statuses are unknown.
