Phillies are alive. Will need a win and some help today.

The Phillies have a shot at becoming just the second team in baseball history to make the playoffs with a losing record. The Phillies were 27-25 less than a week ago and had an 87 percent chance to make the postseason. They lost 6 of 7 and now have a 13.3 percent chance entering Sunday’s finale against the AL East Tampa Bay Rays.
Last night Zack Wheeler allowed three runs in the 5th inning. The inning unraveled after he allowed a two-out, game-tying single to Rays catcher Mike Zunino, who entered the game with a .125 batting average. The Phillies hit the ball last night 12 times but only managed 3 runs. They lost to the Rays 4-3.
Now, the Phillies have to win today rely on both the Giants and Brewers to lose to propel them into the postseason. The Giants, Brewers, and Philies would all finish at 29-31 and the Phillies own the tiebreaker.
Aaron Nola will be on the mound today for the Phillies. The Phlllies have lost 3 of 4 starts with their ace on the mound. Nola had a 4.18 ERA during that span. Nola has to be better. He will face Rays pitcher Josh Fleming. He’s 4-0 with a 3.42 ERA in 6 appearances this year.
- Phillies will start at 3:05pm
- Giants will start at 3:10pm
- Brewers will start at 3:15pm
Prepare yourselves Philadelephia. On the last Sunday in September in a historically screwed up 2020 year, the Phillies and Eagles alike, will attempt to salvage their seasons.
Fly Eagles Fly and of course…
Ring that bell, baby.
